Fixed Network Line Planner

Role Purpose

Responsible for end-to-end planning of fixed-network lines, circuits and customer/service connections, including routing, network-resource allocation, capacity optimisation and implementation support.

Delivery Excellence

• Perform routing and service planning for customer connections.
• Plan fixed-network lines and circuits.
• Allocate required ports, interfaces and time slots.
• Analyse existing network infrastructure and capacity.
• Determine technically appropriate network routes.
• Optimise utilisation of transport and access-network resources.
• Monitor network capacity.
• Identify network-capacity constraints.
• Propose technical solutions for capacity limitations.
• Create switching and change orders.
• Prepare implementation instructions.
• Prepare and maintain planning documentation.
• Maintain connectivity records and network inventory.
• Validate planning data prior to implementation.
• Support commissioning activities.
• Troubleshoot technical queries during commissioning.
• Resolve planning and network-inventory discrepancies.
• Support network migrations and upgrades.
• Perform Quality Control against defined planning guidelines.
• Ensure quality targets for planning processes are achieved.
