Connect44 is seeking a n English-speaking Network Support Engineer to join our team in Timisoara on a permanent basis. This role involves providing technical support across Europe and adopts a hybrid work model.

You will provide top-tier post-sales technical support to customers across Europe. Your role is vital in ensuring seamless setup, configuration, and maintenance of critical IT systems, networks, security infrastructure, wireless systems, and surveillance systems. You will be the second point of contact for customer inquiries, troubleshooting, and issue resolution, ensuring compliance with SLAs and delivering exceptional customer service. Technical training will be provided.

Main activities and tasks:

  • Act as the second-line technical support for customers, responding to queries, diagnosing issues, and ensuring timely resolutions through the helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of servers, storage systems, desktops, audio-visual equipment, printers, software, networks, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, access points (APs), and CCTV systems.
  • Perform fault diagnosis, collect logs, and collaborate with system and equipment providers to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate and manage 3rd-party engineers for onsite troubleshooting at customer locations.
  • Oversee asset and resource management, including the delivery of equipment.
  • Travel within Europe may be required.
  • Ensure adherence to network security protocols and data protection processes.

 Specific skills & technical knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of OSI and TCP/IP models.
  • Experience with optical fiber, structured cabling, and LAN switch technologies (VLAN, STP, EtherChannel, Trunking, etc.).
  • Proficiency in networking technologies like MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, QoS, ACLs, VPNs, SDN, and AAA.
  • Expertise in Huawei routers, switches, and firewalls, including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Fortinet firewalls and related security configurations.
  • Experience with VPN technologies (site-to-site, client-to-site, IPsec, SSL VPN).
  • Experience with Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) and Access Points (APs), including deployment, configuration, management, and troubleshooting of wireless networks.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools for performance management, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
  • Preferred certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Hikvision CCTV systems, including configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cameras, DVRs/NVRs, and network integration.
  • Experience with major server brands (Huawei, Lenovo, Dell, HPE) for tasks such as firmware upgrades, management module configuration, RAID setup, hardware installation, and operating system installation (Windows, Linux, ESX).
  • Knowledge of mainstream storage systems (Huawei, Lenovo, Dell EMC, HPE, NetApp), including accessory installation, firmware updates, RAID setup, LUN configuration, and host mapping.
  • Experience with Brocade SAN switches, including initial setup and zoning configurations.
  • Proficient with VMware vSphere (ESX installation, vCenter configuration, virtual networks, storage, clusters, and VM creation).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Hyper-V (Hyper-V installation, SCVMM setup, virtual networks, storage, clusters, and VM creation).
  • Expertise in Windows and Linux OS, including user/permission configuration, network setup, and domain services.
  • Experience with Windows roles and services (Active Directory, File Server, DFS, NTP, KMS, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English, any other language is considered a plus.
  • Professional and courteous telephone manner.
  • Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently under pressure.
