Overall Purpose:
Radio Optimization Engineer is responsible for validating and optimizing the service and performance levels of 4G/5G mobile network in various scenarios including new sites rollouts, Swap, and capacity expansions.
Key Accountabilities:
Delivery excellence:
- In-depth knowledge of Radio access technologies (GSM, UMTS, LTE, NR)
- In-depth knowledge of Radio Performance analysis and troubleshooting
- Experience in VoLTE troubleshooting and optimization (latency, SIP protocol & MOS)
- Experience in LTE/NR throughput troubleshooting and optimization
- Experience in Capacity Optimization and Load balancing algorithms
- Experience in Handover parameters, events, and troubleshooting
- Experience with OSS Management Platforms such as U2020
- Experience with Drive Test tools post analysis tools such as Assistant and XCAL
- Good knowledge of mobile network architectures and ability to work with other teams to
troubleshoot E2E issues
- Experience with performance reporting and benchmarking
- Strong knowledge of planning mobile radio networks.
- Experience with radio cell parameter planning including but not limited to, frequencies,
neighbors, power, tilts, and load balancing.
- Experience in various planning tools such as ATOL and iBwave
-Experience in testing, validating, and deploying of new radio features
Quality Assurance:
Ability to function as per QMS (quality management system) procedures
Ability to performs Quality Control processes in accordance with set guidelines
Ensures quality targets laid out are met for the processes owned
Other
Maintains close relations with third parties, like vendors, to be able to monitor progress of
reported problems, known caveats, newly available features, software upgrades and hardware
products. This to be able to foresee possible conflicts and improvements to operational services.
